What's New

What is new in the current version?

Version 1.0.2

The following new features are available in Tradesignal Chart version 1.0.2 (changes since version 1.0.1).

EIKON Cloud Storage

User created indicators, strategies and functions, as well as templates, are from now on saved in the cloud storage provided by EIKON.

Drag and drop of chart object data

You are now able to get data into Excel or other applications by simply using the drag & drop functionality.

Improved User Experience

The tool or menu bar comes now with more menu-centric approach and we replaced tools toolbar overflow handling with a overflow button instead of a scroll bar.

There are also new Eikon-styled expand/collapse buttons to both sidebars and the output window to improve discoverability of the bars and the "scroll to newest data" button moved onto the header bar of the output window.

We have also vastly improved the start-up time and added start-up progress indicator.

Version 1.0.1

The follow new features are available in Tradesignal Chart version 1.0.1 (changes since version 1.0.0).

Tick Volume for RICs without trade volume

The volume field for securities that have no trade volume (such as currencies like EUR=), is now filled with the Tick volume for that security (number of trades per period). This allows all volume-based indicators and strategies, such as Price Volume Profile (PVP) to be used on such instruments.

Period indicator

The Period indicator allows the data of its parent to be shown in a different period, so that any indicators attached to the period indicator will be calculated on this alternate period. For example, to create an intraday hourly chart for EUR/USD and to overlay the daily average, one would simply open the EUR= chart, add the Period indicator (ensure its inputs are set to 1 day), add the Moving Average Simple indicator to the Period indicator, then change the period of the whole chart to Hourly. The advantage of this approach is that if the root instrument is replaced, all of the other indicators will immediately update too.

Extend Price (EXPR) indicator

The Extend Price indicator will draw a horizontal trendline at the current price and extend it into the future. Inputs allow choice of which price to use (field or price from some bars ago) and whether to displace the trendline a number of bars into the past. This indicator is immediately useful if plotting daily period indicators on lower period charts, to project the daily price across the intraday day range.

New "All Strategies" category

A new category has been added to the Strategy sidebar that lists all available strategies, irrespective of which other categories they may be in.

New "O&M Costs" input for Dark, Spark, Clean Dark and Clean Spark Spreads

Two new inputs have been added to the Energy Spreads that allow specification of O&M costs and a toggle whether the cost should be applied to the spread calculation.

Average Value at Time (AVAT) indicator now projects the average for the entire day

A new default option (ProjectPriorDays) has been added to the AVAT indicator that, when enabled, will overlay the daily average for the whole day (into the future). If this mode is disabled, the average will only be shown for intraday bars that have been created.

Version 1.0.0

The follow new features are available in Tradesignal Chart version 1.0.0 (changes since version 0.9.0).

Chart templates

A chart template may be used to apply a set combination of indicators, trading strategies and visual styling to one or more charts, or to set the style and structure of newly created charts. A chart may also be auto-synced with a template, so that any changes made to its template will automatically be applied to the chart, and all other charts linked to the same template.

A new toolbar menu titled "Templates" provides access to all template related features.

Percent drawdown and run-up in performance report trades list

Two columns have been added to the trades list which show the per-trade run-up and drawdown values as a percentage of investment. This means the maximum adverse and favourable excursions in both absolute and normalized forms can be observed in this list.

Strategy Drawdown (STRATD) indicator

The strategy drawdown indicator, which shows the strategy drawdown of the trading strategies running on an instrument, now has three new properties, "ShowDrawdownAsPositiveValues" (that inverts the plotted values since now it is shown as a negative value), "Calculation", which generates either absolute or percentage values for drawdown, and "Source", which allows the user to select which type type of drawdown to plot (ParentDrawdown, ParentIntradayDrawdown, GlobalDrawdown or GlobalIntradayDrawdown).

Strategy Equity Combined (CEQUITY) indicator

The Strategy Equity Combined indicator, which shows the open and closed position equity of all strategies in a chart, now allows the user to show strategy equity as a percentage value by setting the "Mode" property to either "Percent" or "PercentMoneyMgmt". The former option will use the "Capital" property to calculate the percentage, the latter option will use the Money Management "Initial Capital" property to calculate the percentage.

Back Color Daily (BACKD) indicator

The BACKD indicator, when applied to an instrument in a chart, will color the background of a sub-chart in two alternating colors, according to the day of the shown bars. This is of most use in an intra-day chart, to easily visualize day transitions.

Currency Conversion in Forward Curve (FCURV) indicator

The forward curve indicator, which plots a forward curve for the future instrument on which it is applied, now has a property that allows any currency conversion options applied to the parent instrument to also apply to the forward curve.
